Hayslope
Built by local resident Thomas Martin in 1889, this beautiful two storey mansion proudly sat on the land to one day be occupied by the Tennyson Power station for 50 years.
The name Hayslope Park has been nominated for the 1.87 hectares of public parkland on the riverfront at Tennyson Reach to pay homage to this significant and gracious building. -
Local Residents
Residents of Tennyson and neighbouring suburbs have always had a stong interest in tennis. Even today, many homes in the area have private tennis courts and the new Queensland Tennis Centre has become the home of tennis in Queensland. -
